Apple is not known worldwide for developing software that is open to everything. In fact, its way of limiting multitasking made the web version of WhatsApp slow to work with the iPhone. To officially install apps like Kodi on their mobile devices, we don't even talk. What wasn't available either was something to sync an iPhone or iPad with a Linux computer, but that's already a thing of the past, since KDE Connect has hit the App Store.
So if like me you have an Apple phone and you use Gnu/Linux you can use KDE Connect which is installed by default with the KDE graphical interface for example Kubuntu. For Debian/Ubuntu you can install it :
sudo apt update sudo apt install kdeconnect
Once KDE-Connect is installed on the computer and the iphone, open both and connect to the same wifi network, normally the iphone is supposed to detect your computer. Just click on it and confirm from your computer and that's is ready.
What the software can do ?
What we can do today with the iOS version of KDE Connect is :
-Send the contents of the clipboard. -Send files. At the moment, we remember that it is in beta, nothing can be sent that is not in the "Files" application of iOS / iPadOS. -Remote presentation control. -Run a command. Before you can do this, you need to configure them in KDE Connect on the linked computer. If we do not have any, the iPad/iPhone list is empty and when choosing the option, the window opens on the computer to create them. -Control the computer remotely. We will control the pointer, that is, we will turn our iPhone or iPad into a touch screen. Maybe in the future they will add the keyboard as well. -Battery status.
